“I hate Mondays” -Garfield (and everyone who ever lived)
To make my Monday just a little bit better, I always like to re-watch or re-listen to things that I happened the past weekend that I may have not given enough time to fully digest or appreciate. This weeks Monday Remix comes from Saturday night. This has been a weird week for America. Donald Trump was elected President of the United States. Politics aside, it’s a pretty surreal experience knowing the guy who I used to watch yell at washed up celebrities on The Apprentice is going to be the leader of the free world.
Many Americans are freaking out about the election, and have concerns about their future in this country. A lot of people are confused and angry and don’t know where to look for guidance in this time. In steps comedy legend Dave Chappelle. I actually saw Chappelle perform stand up in my city last year where he took on another heavy topic, Bruce/Caitlin Jenner. 99% of the audience laughed along but one over zealous crowd member decided to heckle Chappelle and call him out for his views (which were actually pretty tame). You don’t have to agree what he is saying but at least he is saying something, and still trying to make the world laugh even if it’s the last thing on your mind.
Who are the five best comedians of all time? Dylan, Dylan, Dylan, Dylan, and Dave.
Welcome back. t’s been too long.
